Volunteering

Gates Jr. Spartans Football and Cheerleading is an ORGANIZED SPORT. The effort needed to equip, manage, coach and produce games requires hundreds of hours of volunteer labor. "Many hands make light work" is the motto of any volunteer organization. With all the demands that a parent experiences these days it is hard to imagine flipping burgers and selling candy or raffle tickets in your spare time. But these duties and many others are needed in order to produce football and cheerleader squads. For each child in our program, a parent or guardian is REQUIRED to volunteer for two assignments during the season. Luckily, in this endeavor, there is a payoff: the community spirit, pride, and just plain fun of contributing not only rewards the volunteer, it provides our children a positive example of what hard work will create.
